Submissions

We have 2 call outs here!

1 – Music

We’re looking for pieces of flash fiction and poetry to go into a micro-zine that will be sold at Dean Lilleyman’s book launch for his new novel, The Gospel According to Johnny Bender. Dean has become a close friend through our shared ideologies of what the literature scene needs at the minute, so us, Dean, Martine and Miggy Angel have been working closely to make the launch night go off the chain! Music features heavily in the novel, thus the theme, and this will be the theme for the night: RPM. You wont believe what we have in store. My lips are sealed for now.

Submissions need to be short and sharp. The zine will start A6 size and fold out to an A3 sheet. As usual, alongside the flash fiction and poetry, we are looking for photography, artwork and illustrations around the theme. If anyone would like a piece of writing to illustrate then please get in touch. Add ‘music submission’ in the subject bar of all emails.

Deadline: 31st May 2016

There will be more info on the night coming very soon, but here are the basics for your calendar:

2- Videos

We’ve got so much in the pipeline that we can’t quite reveal yet and this is the reason why our subs are being staggered.

The last issue featured a CD of contributors’ spoken word pieces and we want to one-up ourselves this time with a DVD of people’s visual representations of their poetry to accompany an anthology. By this we mean that we don’t just want videos of spoken word performances, we are looking at the visual art. You can read your poem alone or have a musical background, that’s up to you, but we want you to represent it in the most creative way you can.

They don’t have to have not been seen before, so feel free to send us a link to the vid on Youtube or something. After the DVD’s release we will also be featuring them on our blog.

Preferably, this would be how you submit to us:

  • Email us with ‘video submission’ as the subject.
  • Attach your video or send us a link to it online.
  • Have a write up (long or short) about the idea surrounding the video, how it was made and anything else you want to say. This will then accompany it on the blog at a later date.

Deadline: 30th June 2016

If anyone has any questions or ideas then please feel free to get in touch.
